Looking at Card Prices
I’ve been getting into Market Movers a bit recently - I’m an affiliate for them, so earn a small cut if anyone signs up using my link - and I’ve really liked it.
I use Card Ladder a bit - but to be honest, they lose me on the lack of cards they have. Especailly in soccer.
Market Movers isn’t perfect by any stretch - but they have a lot more than Card Ladder. For exampe, here’s the Pele cards on Market Movers.
Obviously, it isn’t everything - but it’s a whole lot more than Card Ladder has.
Card Ladder is a great tool - and I do like that they get data from more places. But I’ve liked MM as a tool.
Anyway, that’s all besides the main point here.
I just wanted to share some results that I’ve found over the past twelve months - looking at some different cards in the hobby.
Before We Start
I’m not going to say much about if it’s a time to buy or sell each particular card - that’s not my style and never has been.
Mbappe World Cup Stickers - PSA 10
As you can see, last December, the PSA 10 Mbappe World Cup sticker hit it’s highest prices over the last twelve months, same with raw, which reached around $45.
Since then though, the sticker has been dropping pretty consistently - and now is fetching around the $300 mark for a PSA 10 - which is actually lower than it was twelve months ago.
Erling Haaland 2019 Fussball
Now, we can’t meniton Mbappe without Haaland can we.
Haaland’s stickers have really also had the same peak (roughly) with the Mbappe World Cup sticker, and the trend has also been mirrored with the Haaland Bundesliga Topps Chrome.
Although, it does seem that the prices have been somewhat stable for a few months now.

Messi Rookies
Probably the grail piece for most modern-ish collectors are Lionel Messi rookies.
The #71 BIS is easily the pick of the bunch, and we’ve seen lower grades dropping in price over time.
The PSA 7 is going for under half of what it was a few months ago. You can see that card here on eBay.
Same thing goes for Barca Panini sets from that year too.
The #62 has dropped in price recently.
And the #35 is very similar too.
There was a massive jump towards the start of the year, and it’s dropped off since.
We can remove the PSA 10s from this list, because it is so far above the other grades. So we can remove the 10s and just suss out the PSA 9s and PSA 8s.
There’s definitely a bit of a dip in Messi rookies which is maybe not that crazy when you consider the “what the hell is happening” talk that was going on in February when prices peaked on Messi.
Will There Ever Be an Awesome Choice for Keeping Track of Soccer Cards
Honestly, I don’t think so. Not for a long time anyway. Market Movers is about as good as it gets in my opinion with the number of cards they’ve got.
At the end of the day though, there’s so much soccer out there - and so many sets - it’s basically impossible to keep track of them all.
Compared to NBA or NFL, where there’s only a few brands to keep on top of.
What Do You Think?
This is more of a - I find this interesting thing… I’m not saying buy or sell as that’s not really my job as someone that has a platform (albeit a small one).
I’d love to know what you think though.
